Staffed by skilled and compassionate veterinary professionals, these facilities provide high quality, affordable care for animals in need.
The Lewyt Medical Center, accredited by the prestigious American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), provides comprehensive medical, diagnostic, surgical, and dental services.
The LaRocca Wellness Center offers a full range of preventive care, including physical and aquatic therapy, acupuncture, and nutritional counseling.
The Freed Special Recovery Center affords comfortable isolation for animals with contagious disease, ensuring a safe environment for all.
Open to all pets, the Centers support our no-kill mission to Rescue, Nurture, Adopt, and Educate.
We are seeking a full time 40 hours/5 days including 1 weekend shift an Overnight LVT or VA to oversee and monitor the care of all hospitalized animals and provide special care to critical animals.
Must be well-rounded in the areas of Critical Care, Medical Treatments, with strong drug calculation abilities Duties and
Responsibilities:
Maintain an accurate log of controlled/emergency drugs used throughout the night Check overnight file for alert lists from departments to carry out the tasks Check overnight file for alert lists from departments to carry out the tasks overnight.

, QID Tx, all types of feeds, controlled drugs, critical cases) Check in with PM techs in all departments.
Monitor fluid therapy - IV, SQ, Bolus, Infusion pumps, etc.
Accurate recordings of animals bowel movement Dispose of fatalities, including date and time on medical records in owner notification bin ( in DVM's office ) and sign into necropsy log Practice good sense and safe medicine Requirements:
Active NYS Veterinary Technician License Required/or Licensed Eligible with a minimum of 2 years' experience or a minimum of 2 years of Veterinary Assistant experience Previous overnight shift experience, veterinary office and/or shelter experience a plus.
Must be flexible to work additional hours when workload requires.
Management experience a plus, but not required.
Must be able to handle critical situations by using best judgment and providing good medical care to triage the animal and to ensure the health of any critical animals.
Keep an open communication with the techs plus the on-call DVMs.
