Position Overview

As a Data Analysis Specialist in NPD?s groundbreaking Checkout Tracking group you will have the opportunity to work with large sets of data and various methodologies to classify data to our custom hierarchy.? The role requires analytical and data processing aptitude.?


This position is located in Port Washington. ?


Overall Responsibilities:

  • Analyze consumer receipt data and create data processing rules to classify to NPD?s category taxonomy.
  • Create the next set of methodologies for data classification and error detection
  • Leverage big-data technology to design, prototype, develop and optimize production algorithms
  • Partner with key stakeholders to understand their needs and build new solutions
  • Develop plans for data collection and analyses for future machine learning and natural language processing capabilities
  • Accountability for managing the Classification completeness and accuracy for his/her assigned Industries.
  • Manage metrics reporting for classification method performance, audit performance, improvement opportunities, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work well on a team as well as independently
  • Conceptual, creative thinker with ability to discover patterns in seemingly unconnected data points, and turn them into classification rules. ?
  • Analytic experience in operational environments mandatory
  • Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to design algorithms including data profiling, clustering, anomaly detection, text analytics, and predictive modeling
  • Strong skills in statistical analyses with abilities in advanced data management and statistical programming using python, R, Java, and/or other languages
  • Experience with the Hadoop ecosystem, Spark
  • Ability to own his/her responsible assignments and lead initiatives for improvement

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
