Director, Client Development

Position Overview The Apparel Practice at NPD works with some of the most well-known brands and innovative manufacturers in the world. Are you passionate about apparel and fashion?  Our Apparel team is seeking a Director in Client Development to work as a partner with a group of our premiere NYC based Fashion clients. This person will be responsible for managing the client's ongoing contract deliverables, supervising the account teams, communicating and interfacing with NPD headquarters where the Product and Research Science teams reside and providing insights and recommendations to grow both the client's and NPD's businesses.   The clients in this portfolio are based mainly in the NYC area with some travelrequired to the Midwest. The position is based in New York City. Overall Responsibilities:  Build engaging relationships with our NYC based Fashion and Intimate Apparel Clients and pave a path to broader more strategic engagements by proving your ability to identify key issues and deliver insights. Deliver revenue growth via consultation and use of NPD products and services. Manage, drive (ROI) and optimize the ongoing contract deliverables. Provide recommendations which address the relevancy of current contracted items against that of new NPD products. Lead and inspire your team as well as cross functional departments.  Coordinate information, and resources with the home office in Port Washington, NY. Demonstrate skilled usage of retail point-of-sale data and consumer panel data to objectively partner with your client to help them grow their business and gain market share. Demonstrate your ability to develop those insights by utilizing a confluence of information both from within and outside of NPD. Understand the dynamics of your client's organizations and be flexible to their changing needs. Bring best practices and innovative ideas from within and outside of the client's industry. Qualifications: Education and Experience - Bachelor's degree plus 8+ years of experience in POS and Consumer Panel Data.  Apparel Industry preferred, in addition to past career experiences; E.g. - Brand Management, Market Research, Account Management / Consulting. Dedication to meeting / exceeding client expectations; ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients and resolve conflicts. Strong organizational, project management skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced, multitasking environment. Demonstrated ability to understand the dynamics of POS and Consumer panel data and how to apply that data to generate analyses. Ability to synthesize big data and develop meaningful conclusions, insights, and recommendations. Strong Excel and Powerpoint Skills Experience in developing and leading a team.  Strong mentoring skills and the ability to teach while leading by example. Demonstrated success in sales and  contract negotiations. Proven history of working within a revenue environment and business goals. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
