Position Overview The Analytic Solutions Product Development Lead works with clients, commercial teams, analytics teams, and our product leadership to develop and commercialize scalable analytic solutions that delight our clients and drive their growth. The role drives NPD growth primarily by developing and delivering capabilities that delights clients, driving new sales and repeat subscriptions. As a senior leader in the organization, you will also participate directly in selling, client development, recommendation development, and training activities. Location:  Port Washington, NY or Rosemont, IL Responsibilities This role leads our overall capability development work for solutions, with an emphasis on our software-enabled approaches. You will be responsible for the process from vision to commercialization, including: Keep and evolve our vision for solutions capability development Develop and maintain a clear product roadmap for analytic solutions (including both software-driven and modeler-driven approaches) Create and operate effectiveprocessesfor: User discovery that addresses needs for function, business impact, and usability User experience design Market assessment Prioritization (i.e. backlog) based on client impact, fit with NPD data assets, feasibility, scalability, etc. Assess development path options to recommend which solutions are best: Delivered via integrated software, with strong modeler tooling, or ad hoc approaches Consumed by users as ingredients, tools, or advisory services Developed internally, with a partner, or via acquisitions Partner with NPD Product Management & Development teams in our retail & manufacturer practices to increase impact of solutions on other products and vice versa Work with R&D and IT infrastructure teams to access architecture options, advocating for user needs to ensure that we select the best technologies Identify and address barriers to scale (e.g. data, organization design, workflow, etc.) Develop framework for how best to address the impact of releasability and suppression in our tools and platforms Oversee and improve quality assurance activities, including methodology peer reviews and model release process Manage product support activities Work with training, Go to Market, Commercial, and analytics teams to commercialize new solutions and improve commercialization of existing solutions Skills and Other Requirements Curiosity Proven ability to listen, probe & synthesize diverse feedback Proven interest in helping clients grow Strong collaborative leadership skills Strong priority setting Track record of creative problem solving Track record of developing people 10+ years of relevant work experience Working familiarity with methodologies for forecasting; marketing effectiveness; price and promotion; assortment; segmentation and related marketing analytics Relevant experience developing analytics solutions and software platforms Working knowledge of common technologies for data management, reporting, visualization, user interface, math algorithms, and security Experience with agile and waterfall project management approaches Understanding of basic financial concepts Strong verbal and written communications Presentation development and delivery skills Proven negotiation skills Willingness to travel up to 50%, likely 20-40% Bachelor's degree or equivalent The NPD Group, Inc. is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
